The Life Work Blog is about stories of women’s career and life paths – the influences that pushed or pulled them in certain directions, how they came to be in their current career or life situation.
Economist Tyler Cowan gave a TED Talk in November 2009, and spoke of our tendency to describe the world around us in terms of stories.
He cited a study in which people were asked to describe their lives, and listed several possibilities:

- A Mess
- A Play
- The Seasons
- A Journey
- A Carousel
